National Council For Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has decided to provide a special opportunity to students, who could not appear in NCHM-JEE 2023. for admission in BSc in Hospitality & Hotel Administration in IHMs (Institutes of Hotel Management) run under NCHMCT.

Admission on Class 12 marks: Admission shall be provided on the basis of marks scored in 10+2 (or equivalent) examination. No need of NCHM-JEE.

Academic qualification required: A pass in 10+2 system of Senior Secondary examination or its equivalent with English as one of the subjects. Candidate must have passed English as a subject of study (core / elective / functional) in the qualifying examination.

Key changes introduced: As we reported earlier, 2 key changes have been introduced this year in the course.

(a) 4 year curriculum: As per NEP 2020, there will be a 4th year option for the students to get an Honours Degree.

(b) IGNOU component removed, Course recognition by JNU: The course is now offered by National Council for Hotel Management at its affiliated institutes and is recognised by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).

Earlier, it was offered jointly by NCHMCT and IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University). The degree used to be awarded by IGNOU. And In order to become eligible for award of the degree B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration by IGNOU, students had to complete the NCHMCT component as full time candidates in the affiliated Institutes of Hotel Management as well as clear the credit papers offered by IGNOU during the course of study.
